I wrote my first music article for Toppermost in December 2023, looking at the solo career of Squeeze co-founder Glenn Tilbrook, and recommending ten tracks. Then in February 2024 I did it again, this time focusing on his songwriting partner, Chris Difford. My third Toppermost, about Badly Drawn Boy, went live recently. Act Your Age Productions put a call-out for writers to create short monologues to celebrate the 60th anniversary of The Beatles debut single, Love Me Do, in 2022. I answered the call and was taken aback when my monologue was accepted! The piece was performed and recorded by the wonderful actress, Julie Root.
